LogMeIn for Ubuntu

LogMeIn is a fantastic tool for controlling Mac and Windows systems. It’s easy to setup and it’s free (for non commercial use.)

For those of us that have converted to Ubuntu it’s a pain to connect to Windows clients using LogMeIn due to the lack of support for Linux (until now!)

Before:
Wine + FireFox For Windows = Sometimes works
or
VirtualBox + Windows + FireFox = Works, but man… this kind of defeats the purpose here…

Now:
LogMeIn Labs has download links for Linux FireFox clients!

Finally a client native to Linux! The only requirements are that you are running a 32-bit version of FireFox. Thats it!

Enjoy!

After downloading and installing the Logmein Firefox Browser plugin how do you add your Ubuntu pc’s to your existing Logmein computers? Also how do you access your Ubuntu computers using Logmein?

    Thanks in advance,

  • At this point you can’t add your Ubuntu PC’s to logmein. You can only view your windows and mac pcs using firefox on Ubuntu. I hope they add support for Ubuntu hosts soon though too! :)
