Just wanted to drop a note about Fedora Core 8. This is the first release in the history of Fedora that I have recommended as a Windows replacement to my non-technical friends… and they love it! It starts fast and out of the box it can do everything that most users need it to.
Best part is that it doesn’t cost anything… unlike dropping almost $300 for Windows Vista Ultimate (Oops…) Don’t get me wrong, Vista is great (Talk about 3 steps forward and 3 steps back, for everything they made better they made something else worse…)

So I ran down a power supply for my broken desktop computer the other day and the only place I could find one was RadioShack… I went in expecting to find shotty equipment that was way over priced, but surprisingly I found some decently priced, sturdy power supplies.
So now I’m back up and running with 500watts of juice being sucked out of the wall.
