Maui Homes and Condos WiFi Flaws
Maui is high tech. There is no way to deny it! We were one of the last to get high speed Internet (remember the Dial-Up days? *shiver*) and because we had to wait we ended up with some of the really cool new (fast) technology! (Good things come to those who wait right?)
None the less, with the introduction of high speed Internet it was just a matter of time until wireless routers for laptops and palmtop devices were to start flying off the shelves at Costco and Walmart.
Lets take a look at the map below (if you gave it enough time to load that is…) Each point is a unique wireless network (you will see some interesting names in there.) A green mark indicates an open (not-protected) network and red marks indicate that the network is protected with some sort of encryption. You will notice that it is about 50/50 in Kihei. Most Wailea homes and Wailea condos wireless networks are open at a rate of about 70 open for ever 30 closed. Tisk…Tisk…
